Lobo Volleyball Gets Three Television Appearances

Fans of the University of New Mexico volleyball team will have the opportunity to see the Lobos on television three times during the 2008 season, twice at home and once on the road. The Mountain West Conference announced the 2008 schedule of 11 televised matches today.

Lobo Volleyball Announces 2008 Schedule

University of New Mexico head volleyball coach Jeff Nelson has announced the 2008 Lobos volleyball schedule. The schedule features seven teams that participated in the 2007 NCAA Tournament, including regional finalists BYU and Nebraska. The Lobos will host two tournaments, the MCM Elegante Lobo Classic to begin the regular season, and the Comcast Lobo Challenge to end the regular season.

Lobo Volleyball Team Headed To Argentina

The University of New Mexico volleyball team was scheduled to leave today for a 12-day trip to Beijing and Shanghai, China, but the travel agency, TranSports Athletic Team Tours, planning the trip declared bankruptcy on May 21. Since then, head coach Jeff Nelson has been working hard to piece together another international trip during the same time frame. So instead, the Lobos are headed to Argentina from May 27-June 7.

The University of New Mexico Athletics Department and former Lobo Doug Vaughan have announced the establishment of The Vaughan Company Realtors Jeanne Fairchild Endowed Scholarship for Volleyball today at a special presentation in the Johnson Center on the campus of UNM.
